Dave Ross says he can't remember a time when he wasn't in radio. Even as a child he pretended to be a disc jockey and in high school, he got his first real radio announcer job at WVIP in Mt. Kisco, New York, working part-time from 6 PM to midnight.
Born in Yorktown, New York, Ross was graduated from Cornell University with a degree in English. During this time he also worked as news director for WTKO in Ithaca, New York. After graduation, he headed for WSB in Atlanta where he worked as a reporter until 1978 when he joined his current station, KIRO in Seattle.
Besides his Mid-Day Host duties at KIRO, Ross is heard on the CBS Radio Network and KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO. His imaginative writing style and unique sense of humor make his reports both informative and entertaining. Some of his reports contain original song parodies which he writes, arranges, and he says "unfortunately sings."
Ross has won numerous awards for his radio work, including the coveted Clarion and Gabriel awards. His lives with his wife Patti and two daughters in the Seattle area. |
